Gli USA continuano a tenere su l'economia

(Bloomberg) -- The Federal Reserve extended two emergency lending programs to Wall Street firms until Jan. 30, 2009, ``in light of continued fragile circumstances in financial markets,'' the central bank said today.

Companies in the U.S. unexpectedly added an estimated 9,000 jobs in July, a private report based on payroll data showed today.The increase followed a revised drop of 77,000 for the prior month that was smaller than previously estimated, ADP Employer Services said.
U.S. stock-index futures advanced after a private report showed that employers unexpectedly added jobs in July and oil retreated for a second day.``The employment picture has held up much better than expected,'' said Lawrence Creatura, who helps manage $2.7 billion at Clover Capital Management Inc. in Rochester, New York. ``It's very difficult for the economy to collapse if people still have jobs. For the stock market, it may mean that some sectors which were depressed in anticipation of the consumer weakening may be mispriced.''

Earnings have topped estimates at almost three-quarters of the S&P 500 companies that have reported second-quarter results so far even as profits slump 21 percent on average from a year earlier, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. As recently as July 3, analysts had forecast a drop of 11 percent in earnings.

Gli Usa sembrano determinati a tenere su l'economia , bypassando tutte le convinzioni liberiste professate da sempre . Questo è positivo per il resto del mondo , perchè altrimenti la crisi si espanderebbe . Desta sensazione che le banche vengano salvate senza neanche chiedere le dimissioni dei vertici delle stesse . Basti pensare che i vertici di Fannie e Freddie sono strapagati ed hanno aumentato i loro guadagni andando a prendersi dei rischi (che non rientravano strettamente nel loro statuto) pur di fare guadagnare di più le società (e se stessi) . Adesso che ci sono le perdite queste verranno ripianate dai contribuenti . Tutto il mondo è paese.......

Dall'altro lato , e senza voler negare che ci sia una crisi in atto , viene confermato che i profeti di sventure continuano a provarci , anche perchè , giocando al ribasso possono guadagnare cifre notevoli , come ho detto qualche giorno fa.

Adesso tutti aspettano di vedere come sono andate le scorte di greggio in USA , per sparare le proprie previsioni e scommesse sull'andamento del prezzo del petrolio . Vedremo .

Intanto assistiamo ad un rialzo del dollaro , che nessuno aveva previsto e che è contro ogni fondamentale : il debito americano è altissimo , i tassi a breve sono la metà degli europei , quelli a lunga sono più bassi degli europei , la pulizia dei bilanci delle banche è a metà strada . Il bello è che per molti è l'andamento del dollaro che influenza quello del petrolio e delle altre materie prime .
