WASHINGTON, July 22 (Reuters) - Jobless rates jumped in June from the month before in more than half of the US states as sinking public employment reversed the trend of steadily improving labor conditions in the first half of 2011.

The dollar volume of purchases charged grew 10.7 percent in June from a year ago, while the number of transactions rose 6.8 percent, according to First Data Corp.’s SpendTrend report issued this month.
